A few of my favourite lipsticks
Browsing through the search referrers for my blog can be riveting – seriously. It’s interesting to see what terms people have googled before finding us. There are random ones (what shampoo does Dave Navarro use?) and kinky ones (long nail porn). But one recurring search I’ve noticed is about wearing lipstick on thin lips.
My first post for My Fair Lipstick was called How To Wear Bright Lipstick on Thin Lips and thanks to google search is now our third most-read article. I spoke about my lipstick phobia and how Fox in Flats and her style dare brought me out of my lipstick shell. But shortly after I hit publish I went back into hiding. Where did my confidence go?
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. Instead of forcing “romance” into your life or relationship, why not focus on something nice for yourself instead? I spoke about red nails earlier this week, but a dash of red lipstick is another way to brighten your day.
Who suits red lipstick?
The other day a friend of mine said she thought red lipstick didn’t suit her dark skin. To that I say, “pffffftttt, wrong!” But I understand where she’s coming from and the caution she feels. Red lipstick is bold. It’s eye-catching and for those of us who don’t ooze self-confidence that can be a little daunting.
Pink lippie on the way home from the beach
One style blog I am a little obsessed with is by awesome fashionista Fox in Flats. In December she ran a series of daily dares called DAREcemeber. I was keen to join in but when I saw that the fox had put down hot pink lipstick for day one, I panicked. Could I wear fuchsia lipstick from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to bed? Hell to the no.
