Mother’s Day may be consumer-driven but it’s also a good reminder to appreciate those very special people – our mums. They’ve nurtured us, helped us grow and maybe offered a bit too much unwanted advice. But sometimes those unsolicited tips and tricks end up becoming staples in one’s routine.

In Japan it is considered beautiful for a woman to have fair skin.
This admiration of fair skin has a long history. Historically it was a sign of social status. The wealthy could afford to spend time indoors so had fairer skin, whereas the working class spent a lot of time working outdoors and so were more tanned.
