Now we are into December I feel it’s an acceptable time to start talking Christmas. You might not be the type to wear flashing bauble earrings or reindeer jumpers but you can easily get into the Christmas spirit with a swipe of nail polish. Here’s some inspiration:
A red mani suits everyone and every season. It’s a perfect balance of being festive with style.
Experiment with different shades. If you’re having a white Christmas this year why not pick a darker red like Natio’s Crimson? Not only will it bring out your inner vixen, but it also has a bit of shimmer for some added Christmas cheer. Apply two coats for a strong opaque colour.
Face of Australia’s Cool Cotton
In the past year white manicures have been spotted on the catwalk and on celebrities. It can look stylish and fun so I was keen to try this trend, especially now summer is upon us. The only problem? I am paranoid about looking like the kid bored in class who went nuts with the liquid paper.
Remember painting your fingers with this?
It’s hard to come across cruelty-free white polishes. So I was thrilled to see that Face of Australia has one.
I’ve been known to joke that a nail polish collection is a poor girl’s fetish. We’re too broke for frequent trips to the salon and there’s no way we could afford a collection of designer shoes or handbags. So instead we treat ourselves to varnish. Well, according to a Time Magazine article published earlier this year that philosophy goes even further with the journalist suggesting that nail polish sales (along with cheap booze) go up during recession and times of economic crises. It got me thinking about nail polish and which cruelty-free brands are giving us the best bang for our buck.
Happy Maniday y’all. What are you wearing today? I’ve got on Natio’s Maple nail polish. I know, I know! It’s spring and I should be embracing coral and fuchsia – just call me Rebel Salkild. But what I am REALLY excited about is Trilogy’s hand cream.
Ed’s note: Today’s post comes from our contributor Andrea Reitano.
