Lush Ponche Shower Gel

Ed’s note: Even though we were given this at the Lush Christmas blogger event, our reviews are honest opinions. We don’t believe in sugar coating unless it’s on our food. Our guinea pig today is the lovely Alex Harmon.

Brand/Product: Ponche Shower Gel. Lush says, “[I]nspired by the Mexican fruit punch made from seasonal fruits such as plums, oranges, cinnamon and vanilla.  All ingredients that can help warm and stimulate the senses.  Wash your hair and body with this fruity, softening shower gel and lift your spirits and get into party mode – there’s even a dash of tequila to give it a little kick and add some festive cheer!”

LUSH Ponche shower gel-500x500

Price: $7.50 for 100 grams, $12.50 for 250 grams and $19.95 for 500 grams. Unfortunately it’s out of stock online, but you could try and grab one from a Lush store at 50% off. Otherwise, it will be released October 2014. That’s only nine months away, although I know how painful it is to wait nine months for something to arrive.

Would you like some tequila with your morning shower?

Alex’s thoughts: A shot of tequila with your morning shower might not sound appealing to everyone, (we’ve all had a bad experience with the stuff) but Lush’s Ponche shower gel will get you punch-drunk in love. It smells like a screwdriver (tequila and orange for anyone who didn’t grow up in the 80s) but with hints of cinnamon and plum. The product was actually inspired by a traditional Mexican Christmas punch and it foams up well, making you feel refreshed and clean. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with an adventurous spirit. Although I’m a little scared to try it with a hangover…
