I’ve been pretty pleased with my DIY brown sugar body scrub but lately the thought of mixing together sugar and coconut oil feels like too much work – I blame the “I’m knackered” pregnancy hormone. So, I’m on the lookout for a gentle, nourishing, environmentally-friendly and inexpensive body wash. Is that too much to ask?
Price: $2.99 for 400ml from Coles and selected chemists. Or shop online at Ethical Buyers.
Verdict (Yay or Nay): This shower gel uses recycled packaging, is grey water safe and Australian owned. However, be mindful it contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate which is a bit controversial. One of our readers has spoken on both the environmental and health complications of this ingredient and why she has chosen to boycott it.
It’s also dirt cheap with a lovely gel consistency. It’s not overly moisturising so if you need something with more oompf give this one a miss. But the deciding factor for me was the smell. It’s got a fake fruity scent that is a bit too kiddie for me. As a disclaimer I am knocked up and a bit more sensitive to strong smells right now. So it gets a big nay.
Have you tried this shower gel? Would you give the scent a yay or a nay?
