It’s maniday. Every Monday we like to share what we’re wearing on our nails and why. Let us know in the comments below what’s on your nails.
Brand/Product: Face of Australia black nail polish.
Colour: Scream from the Colour Pro Enamel range.
Cost: $6.95 from Kmart, Big W and Priceline.
Why we love it: Colour Pro Nail Enamel dries in a minute. The 3-in-1 formula acts as a base and top coat all in one. It’s also Toluene free, Formaldehyde free and Dibutyl Phthalate free.
Verdict (Yay or Nay): I first bought this to try a reverse French mani then I put it away and forgot about it. Now we are well and truly into winter it’s the perfect time to get out this shade again.
Face of Australia claims you don’t need a top/base coat but I found that using Natio’s Top and Base Coat gave my mani lasting power and a glossy finish. Without the top/base coat I needed three coats of Scream to make it opaque.
It’s alriiiiight but I wouldn’t buy this again. Even after three coats it came out a bit streaky and uneven. I wanted to look really polished and sleek. I guess I’d pull it out for fancy-dress occasions (like if I was going to a party as a grungy witch). NAY!
If you’re after a dark, vampy look I’d opt for Natio’s maple. However, I’m not entirely giving up on black and keen to compare this with Blackmail by Australis or Mode’s Blackjack . And then there’s e.l.f. – has anyone tried e.l.f.?
