Well helloooooo Autumn. We’re midway into the season. The nights are starting sooner and the air is becoming crisper . It’s perfect weather to rug up indoors and treat yourself to a DIY manicure.

You might be thinking of pulling out black, burgundy or burnt orange nail colours, but what about trying a mint or pastel green to go with the warm-toned fashion?

Brand: Mode Cosmetics

Colour: Cool As is a mix between pastel green and spearmint. Buying pastel is always a bit of a gamble. You never know if it will be too white based and end up streaky. Two coats of this, however, creates a great opaque colour that looks very professional.

Cost: $2.45 at selected pharmacies or online through Heritage Brands. If you spend over $50 at Heritage Brands (they also stock Australis and Innoxa) it’s free shipping. Bar-gain!!!

Why I Wore It? I actually was at a Circus Party and thought the colour would be ideal with my costume.

This is not my usual attire

Verdict: After the dress-up party I kept reapplying – on to my third time in a row. The colour really suits the mild Aussie autumn weather. It’s a subtle look but a bit unusual too.

Mode is great value and as I mentioned with Party Girl, my mani lasted me five days. For $2.45 that’s impressive! I’m really happy with Mode nail polish and will definitely be going on an online splurge soon. YAY!

Ed’s note: Mode Cosmetics sent me this after I emailed them asking for green polish. This in no way affects how I have reviewed the product.
