The people of the Padaung Karen hill tribe live on the border of Thailand and Burma.
Women of this tribe begin wearing brass neck rings from the age of five. They add rings to give the appearance of long necks which is considered a mark of beauty.
This tradition may be fazed out over the coming generations as young mothers are refusing to put their young girls through what looks more than a bit uncomfortable.
